Are you on a mac or windows device? If on mac can you turn on "native trackpad" in user preferences > preview features?
If on windows, can you tell more about your device?

Did you restart Fusion after turning on native trackpad? I think that is one that works better with a restart.

Otherwise:

  • If you go to the main General page of the preferences, what do you have set for "Pan, Zoom, Orbit shortcuts"?
  • Anything else notable about your setup? Do you see this primarily with Fusion in full screen or a different desktop "space"? Any external monitors?

Oh do you have "Use gesture-based view navigation" turned on? It's just a little below the Fusion orbit setting? Only other thing I can think of at the moment.

Okay we want that on. Can you do this:

  1. Turn gesture view ON.
  2. Turn native trackpad OFF.
  3. Restart Fusion.
  4. Turn native trackpad ON.
  5. Restart Fusion.
  6. Test again.

The behavior is classic for the native trackpad being off so if that still doesn't trigger it we might need to dig deeper. If that is the case can you grab your Fusion 360 Diagnostic Log files and either reply back with them or PM them to me?

Hmm odd. Can you grab the diagnostic logs for the computer? The link from my previous post includes instructions if you aren't familiar.

Here ya go, yeah not having a proper rotate feature is very frustrating as using the cube in the corner doesnt reset the pivot and my model swings around lol.

Hey @ckVCFWD , can you try doing a repair with the Fusion service utility and then testing again?

Can you send me a new set of diagnostic logs after the repair? I noticed that they go back WAY farther then I would expect so just want to make sure things got cleared properly. Thanks!

should also mention that gestures no longer works either. just two finger scroll to zoom. just double checking that the log got attached to my last message, Im not sure how to tell if it did. I don't see anything that indicates an attachment on my last post so Ill just attach it again in case. not being able to rotate the model outside of the cube in the corner is super frustrating. like most important feature.

Thanks, the first message didn't attach the logs so thanks for trying again. It really sounds like you have the "gesture navigation" turned off in the main preference page. You're sure you have that turned on? We talked about that feature earlier in the thread if you don't remember.
I'll take a look at the logs.

I'm having the same problem for the past week or so. I've checked all the preferences too. Then today I suddenly could no longer save a new working model. I'm thinking I need to reinstall Fusion 360 but am not sure how.
