Too much gray

Hi folks,

After I updated Fusion today I found that the fonts have changed, they look like they're smaller, and some of the button are gray when they were black.  Examples of the gray buttons is below. I really have a hard time seeing those because of my vision.  Is there any way to turn those back to black?

The fonts look smaller to me, too, again troublesome because of my vision. Can I make those bigger?

The text in the preferences form is also grayish. I really need those to be black for ease of use.  Are there any hidden settings I can change?  Maybe something in the registry?

Thanks,

Vic

Using a high contrast theme on my computer won't help - I can see everything else I use fine.

Same opinion — the new UI is much harder to read, please roll it back!

You can revert to the Classic theme for a bit longer under Preferences. This will eventually be removed next year, however.

Thanks, Lance. I would love to switch back, but I see only the choices below, and both of those choices are worse.  Is there some other way to change themes?

Everything was perfect until this last update. There was no need to change colors or fonts.

My apologies! Please restart Fusion and check once more.

Thanks, Lance. That’s much better. Please leave the Classic option there. It’s already coded and it’s already in the combo box. There is no reason to remove it. All the grayness (even in this forum) is hard for me to see and I really hope it stays.

That little change and Fusion is once again much better for work, please keep this option for the classic theme permanently...

I will pass the feedback along. The newer themes and appearances are being aligned for all products across the company - Fusion's Classic theme is based on an older styling infrastructure that is on its way out, so it might be most effective to frame feedback from the standpoint of what could be improved about the newer themes.

If you will create new themes for Autodesk products, please simply copy the color scheme of items from the classic Fusion theme and apply the same colors to one of them. Classic theme looks profesional without any issues.

Thank you!

I have to agree with the OP here.  If you have a button whose function/meaning depends on its colour (eg the save button), then there needs to be a reasonable contrast between the possible colours.  Since the November update I'm barely able to distinguish between the light and dark greys when they are alongside each other, and not at all in isolation.  This also applies to other UI elements like flags in the data browser (which have two colours depending on whether the current version is a milestone).

There are plenty of other UI elements which use a much darker grey (eg below): couldn't you use this shade to avoid deviating from your cross-product theme?

I agree with the other posters in this thread - new theme is harder on the eyes and the grey text makes me think those options are...greyed out. I have to actually stop and think for a second now when I want to click the save button because my brain is telling me that option is not available. Everyone knows a greyed out button isn't clickable in any software, modern or not...I shouldn't have to retrain my brain that Fusion is different than every other piece of software I use.

This is an excellent point. Gray should only be used for disabled functions.

As others have said the gray on the save button makes it appear it's not available

there's no contrast that I can tell
