TOO MANY updates

Dear Autodesk team,

can you just fix ALL the bugs at once and update Fusion360 once every half year and NOT every week? Can you just do it like every other company and software in the world please?
And stop the down-maintenance so often? I often work over the weekend and you make it impossible to work with Fusion360.

Btw, new updates causing issues with basic stuff, like the new update: if you hide a part by tapping "v" and then going back, either with "ctrl + z" or in the upper left corner for "back", the part is visible again, but the eye in the browser on the left side is still closed.

@officeZJ276 Thanks for your feedback.

1. The maintenance if you see if called out as NO downtime maintenance. This means Fusion will be fully available to you to work on.

2. Regarding updates, we had an update on July 15th and the prior update was on June 9th. We also provide an option to snooze an update (and we are talking about how to give more options to customers around snooze).

We strive to continue to add value to the updates that we push out and reduce any issues that impacts productivity (in the process give more choices to customers too).

Will look into the one problem that you called out.

It's 2026 and this is STILL AN ISSUE. You could do the absurd amount of updates this program requires, IF you didn't hijack my computer during all the time it's updating. Everything gets UNUSABLE!

The insane disk thrashing makes everything unusable; I can't browse, type in another app, or do any real work for as long as the update runs (often 30+ minutes). On a modern SSD it shouldn't hammer the system this hard. Any chance of better throttling, background/low-priority mode, or at least make them not mandatory?

@andreaudio This is generally not the experience we hear from our customers. What hardware do you have? If the download is taking more than 30 mins it sounds like it could be the network too. What speeds do you have for your network?

The next time you have an update, have you tried the snooze? It will delay the update by up to 28 days based on your license type. This way you do not have to pick up an update immediately.

It has a WD Blue SSD.
It's not a top of the line machine or network, but it's not a terrible one too.
Updates should not crash my system so much and for so much time.

@andreaudio That is for certain an acceptable network speed. What is your typical update pattern? AS in, you launch Fusion , it shows an update is available, do you immediately accept the update and then keep working on Fusion?

My experience with the updates:Every time I launch Fusion I see there is a new update available. I postpone it for as long as possible.I only start the update when it becomes mandatory or when there are just 2–3 days left.
The moment I click “Update”, my entire computer becomes almost unusable until the process finishes. The progress percentage increases very slowly, and the HDD/SSD activity light stays
solidly on the whole time (it doesn’t even blink).
When the update finally completes, Fusion forces a restart of the application. Only a while after restarting the program does everything return to normal.
During the entire update I cannot work in Fusion at all. In fact, even simple programs like Notepad become extremely sluggish.
The machine is basically locked up until the update and restart are done.

@andreaudio Thanks for these details. If you dont mind the next time you hit this issue, can you get the logs from the Windows process monitor? " This is the process monitor tool that you can install. This could give us information on what exactly is happening during the download process.
