Too many problems to list!!!!!!!!!!

Hello All,

I am a longtime user of F360 (2 years) and am always recommending this software but am having second thoughts and am going to see if I can ask for some assistance here before pulling the pin and going with something else.

I have a brand new clean gaming computer and am well versed in the use of its cad/cam functions. It was fine for the first week but for the last few weeks I have had issues with freezing, not being able to save, insertions not inserting, not being able to perform simple combine fuctions, etc. I have re-installed the software and have a condition now where when I open any file and close it, I can't open it again until I close Fusion 360 and open it again.

I am habitual in thinking it's me when something isn't functioning properly and working the problem accordingly but these issues are not me. I would share some screenshots but I don't think its necessary to help explain these many issues.

I am getting killed time-wise with constantly troubleshooting, performing work-arounds, redrawing full files, and re-installing this software. I should note that although I have not made any money with this program, it was always the intention to learn it and start a small cnc business. I am currently putting a business plan together and at the same time I am prototyping some designs which should have been done weeks ago but am BLEEDING HOURS THAT HAVE TURNED INTO DAYS and have nothing to show for it. If I sound stressed, I am as I was not counting on having issues like this. As a matter of fact, the software as it stands now (since my most recent and possibly my last attempt before increasing my startup costs by whatever SolidWorks is now) is borderline unusable if I cant even close a drawing and simply re-open it again.

Any help that anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated as I want to buy this software but simply can't if I can't get it to simply run as intended.  Thanks in advance and my apologies for this rant but I've almost had it and I'm frazzled and I am running out of time! Cheers!

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file that exhibits even one issue to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Hello and thank you for replying. I have more info to work with now. I
believe the issue lies with the "my editable documents" folder. I initially
thought it was due to a "combine" in a document that went sideways but it
was after a reorganization of files right around the same time in
retrospect. When I open a doc, if it opens at all in that file it runs
like a dog, and can't be saved (icon greyed out and not doing it
automatically despite saying it is). The symptoms seem to be getting worse
and worse and there is a constant blue circle over the thumbnail that fails
to display. If I go to the home file of the same document, the thumbnail is
displaying and the file opens and looks like it is saving. I have
reinstalled the software several times but it hasn't solved the problem but
at least I can hopefully get back to redoing the work I have lost. I'm
thinking the problem lies with the path back to the cloud but I don't know
enough about how that part works. Perhaps I could make all doc's read only,
sign out, uninstall and reinstall, sign in, and then (re)mark the docs
editable in an effort to renew the path and location on the cloud. Do you
think that would help or do have any idea what is happening here and how to
fix it? Thanks again for replying and thanks in advance for any help you
can shoot my way. Cheers!

Hi,

Thanks again for replying. This is a file that is exhibiting the behavior I was talking about. It seems no matter where I open this file it make F360 unresponsive. Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers!

I would expect to experience issues with geometry like that.

Hello again,

Thanks for looking at this but I don't follow. These documents were running fine in my last computer that didn't have a dedicated card, way less ram, and other issues to boot. This geometry is not the problem. Can you elude to why such geometry would be a problem? Again, works though other files when opened there but not in the "my editable docs". Thanks in advance.

I noticed the design works OK until this extrude. What I also noticed is the extrudes create several faces that don't quite line up with the inner rectangle.

I went through each sketch and added coincident constraint to the inner rectangle and locked the profiles and now the file works without lagging. I also edited and fully constrained the rectangles. See attached file.

All those near coplanar faces give the program a hard time calculating the intersections. My fixed design has a single face now.
