The screen resolution changed by itself after I click enter in mcmaster

I was trying to download a part from mcmaster. When I type in the work and click enter, the resolution of my laptop suddenly changed to 800 x 600. I have tried multiple times, each time my screen resolution is changed. 

Why is that happening? How can a software change my laptop settings?

Does the issue arise even after you restart your computer?

Also, is your Windows up to date? This may correlate to some inconsistencies between the software and Windows.
