Tab key won't lock dimension

I'm using the student version of Fusion 360 on Windows 10, and by looking through the forums, I found I'm not the only one having this problem. Let's say im drawing a center rectangle. I start the sketch, enter the dimension for one side, press tab, and even though the cursor jumps to the dimension for the other side, it won't lock the previous dimension.

So far I couldn't find a solution, but if anyone could help me fix this, I'd be really grateful. It's not impossible to work this way, just inconvenient.

I just checked on mine and it is working for me. I have noticed that if the mouse is moving while I tab the interface can be odd.

Not moving the mouse while pressing Tab didn't help. I also switched the keyboard layout to english, but that didn't work either.

I've looked through the settings a dozen times by now, but I couldn't find an option for it, and locking dimensions with the tab key isn't even listed along the official hotkeys: https://www.autodesk.com/shortcuts/fusion-360

Hi,

In my case, the Y-dimension is locked by pressing the tab key.

Maybe a CLEAN UNINSTALL will help you?

I also can't get the tab key to lock dimensions in fusion. I have tried a clean uninstall and reinstall but the issue persists

new discovery. Tab key will only lock if I have manually specified a dimension in the text entry box. otherwise tab will just select the opposite dimention text entry box.

yes that is correct.  Thanks for pointing it out.  This behavior is intentional.  The thinking is that you only really want to lock values which you have entered explicitly.  Cursor movement is considered too imprecise to be of much value.
