Sweep loosing path

Hi All

I'm working on some Stone settings templates, and ran in an issue with sweep loosing its path

I sweep a circle along a path, I have some dimensions controlling the path

when I make adjustments to the path the sweep will sometimes loose it's path.

 The thing is it worked the first few adjustment, (some times I can make 6 changes ), only a few mm at a time. then the Sweep feature turns yellow indicating an error.

but if I edit the feature, it has the right path selected but , the OK button is greyed out, I need to delete the path and reselect it, which in turn creates a new body, which then breaks the next feature in my design which is a pattern

(right path is selected but OK is greyed out)

Is this a know bug?

Cheers, Stephen

File >Export and then Attach your *.f3d file here that exhibits this behavior.

It happening in in every files , were I try to use this method of controlling spline.

This is what I'm working on,  and I need the setting to adjust to match the stone, 8mm, 9mm,10,, etc...

I've attached a file that only has the 2 sketches and the sweep. and it has the same issue.

That's a Bug. Fusion 360 looses the selection of the path when you change the spline.

That should not be happening.

@jeff_strater

@ryan.bales

Can one of you take a look at this ?

In my Attached file the red version using your profile Sketch2 does not update while my green version using my profile Sketch3 does update.  Looks like a bug to me.

This is strange. i had a hard time breaking it in @TheCADWhisperer's sample (who knows why there but i saw it broken). But in this one it breaks pretty easy.

I'll log it with the team.

FWIW if you reselect the path it should rebuild the sweep - and yes before anyone tells me "you shouldn't have to do that" i'm well aware you should not have to reselect the sweep path after modifying it in its sketch.

Yes reselecting the path rebuilds the sweep, which is not a big deal, but the act of reselecting the path , creates a new body , which in turn , breaks the next function, a pattern , then various copy/moves  etc etc etc.... 🙂

I'm not sure if it was just my imagination but it seems to break easier when using planes on angles.

Also I'm using OSX (10.14.3)

Thanks to everyone that confirmed it was not just me.

Yes, hence why i mentioned being 'well aware of that' at the and of my post. 😉

Now, The big difference between the green body and my original in 'TheCADWisperer" file is the placement of the circle, in my design I use a plane a long a path to place a plane at the end of the spline, this seems to be more unstable?

@ryan.bales this, however, you should probably run by @jeff_strater , because if the re-selection assigns a different index to the body created by the re-selection that is in fact another bug.

I move my profile to the centre of the spline and it seems more stable , that will do me for now, 🙂
