Sweep/Loft hybrid?

Hi there, I am looking to create a complex surface.

I can Sweep a profile along a path,

and I can Loft from one profile to another.

But is there a way to go from one profile to another (like a Loft) along a path, perpendicularly (like a Sweep)?

You can define rails to guide the lofted surface.

I have tried that, and I get the Warner that "selected rail does not tough all of the profiles."

it's not acting like a Sweep.

Change to Centreline Rail, and the message will be avoided.

Message is valid for normal Rails.

this works when I used Sweep and set the orientation to Parallel. but there is no Parallel setting in loft, as there is in sweep.

Works for me.

(Loft will not play well with careless constructions.)

True, the loft is functioning this way. Here is a link to a good thread
that explains the different projection types to make rails work:

You supplied 3 pictures where the intended rail is not connected to profiles.

Centre line Rail that extends past profiles, and does not penetrate profiles.

The Loft Tool has informed you that rails must involve all profiles, and you made no apparent changes, within the geometry.

Loft is finicky even with careful construction, but plain stops with your depicted geometry.

I have a feeling I know what he means, but to be sure it would help if you could share your design (export as .f3d and attach to next post).
