STL edges jumping across faces

Hi there,

I've designed a cycloidal gear that I'm trying to save as an STL, however the STL edges it generates jump across faces, which ruins the geometry. With refinement set to "high" it's the worst, but it still happens with refinement set to medium and low.

Can you export your f3d file and attach here?

I noticed the gear has been inserted, do you have the original. Was it created in Fusion? What I've found is the shape is created using 2 splines rotated 10 times and the small concave spline doesn't convert to a mesh well. This concave spline should be a 3mm fillet and if I deleted all of them and replace with fillets I can get a good mesh. It should work with the original though, @jeff_strater  can you tack a look.

This is the modified part meshed, file's attached.

It was created in fusion, it's a set of intersecting splines that have been offset. Not sure why the circular profiles were created as splines, but having replaced them with circles in the original sketch it works great now. Thanks so much for your help I had no idea there were problems with splines exporting as STL

I have filed a ticket for the geometry team to look into this more closely, as it does seem something is not quite right.  But I was able to generate a much better triangulation of the original file (the spline geometry) with some custom adjustments to the tessellation settings:triangulation_settings.PNG
