STEP File problem

Hi everyone,

I was working on a project using T-Splines in Fusion 360, then i made sure that all my bodies are solids. But when i exporte the step file and try to open it in 3D EXPERIENCE PLATFORM (CAD software used in my university) it opens as  a surface and not a solid and i can't modifie it inside 3d exp. So, if anyone can help me to solve this problem i would be thankful.

What do you get when you open the STEP file in Fusion 360?  Please attach the STEP file.

Correct the highlighted errors and try again.

The attachment's cle_ville_vf_sb.step content type (application/octet-stream) does not match its file extension and has been removed.

The file must be attached using the Attachments section below.  If you use this and still have issues, zip it up first.

I have not seen a .rar file in ages, you must be outside the USA.  Anyway, I opened the STEP file in both Fusion 360 and Inventor 2021 and it opens perfectly and is truly a solid.  So as far as I can tell there is no issue with your file.  You do know that your STEP file is of an assembly?  Maybe that is the issue.  Also I do not know what application you created it with but I saved, just the component, in an older format - 203.  Maybe that will be the trick.  Fusion 360 uses a new format that maybe your downstream application cannot handle.  The Single Component STEP in 203 format is attached.  Do not let the file extension bother you, STP and STEP are the same thing.  Notice I attached the file directly, do not know why you could not.  Hope this solves your issue.

HI, I've opened the file in 3Dexp but the problem isn't solved, it always opens as a surface and not a solid body. Here is a screen  of the problem from 3dexp.Problem.PNG

What happens if you run a test with a simple cube?

What response do you get on that product’s forum about knitting the surface to a solid body?
