Specifying a Laptop - Intel Processor Choice - i9-10885H or Xeon W-10885M

Hi

I'm specifying a new laptop for F360 through work. It's been narrowed down to a Dell Precision 3551 and I have the choice between an Intel i9-10885H or Xeon W-10885M.

The i9 has more cores, a larger cache and a higher boost speed, but the Xeon has a higher base speed. And aren't Xeon's supposed to be better for mobile workstations?

Thanks for any help!

Hi,

The CPU speed is what you need.
The number of cores does not matter with Fusion.

Thanks @g-andresen

So what I need to know is that I should go for the higher boost speed of the i9 or the higher base speed of the Xeon?

Does anyone know how Fusion 360 works with regards to boost speed?

Thanks

Justin

Hi,

The maximum CPU speed is crucial, because the CPU is oriented to the actual task.
But just google about it.
Be aware, though, that a lot depends on your way of designing.
