Space mouse orbit locked during sketch

When editing a sketch, my space mouse automatically locks the X & Y axis, not allowing orbit viewing.

I have to manually drag the view cube to unlock the orbit every time. How do I unlock or turn off this auto-lock feature?

Thanks Guenther - glad I'm not just overlooking something lol. Yes, this is very annoying to be automatically turned on instead of an 'Opt IN' option.
