Small CAM inch bug

In CAD / Model you can use " symbol or 'in' in dimensions regardless if your in mm or inches, and the software will add the correct value based on your preferences,

But in CAM you can only use 'in' and not the " symbol when inputting sizes, in the UK we mainly now work in mm but a lot of stock comes in inches, so its nice to add stock size in inches, and " is a lot more common use in the UK than using "in" as said this does work fine in CAD just not in CAM

Hope this makes sense.

Hi @leighCB8FK,

Thank you for posting! I may be missing the point but you can change the unit in CAM environment. Please see the screencast below.

Is this what you are trying to do? If not, could you record a screencast or attach some screenshots?

ok let try and explain again.

I want to mainly use mm so have my preferences set to mm.

But now and then you have a project where some dimensions are given in inches.

In model you can enter dimensions as default mm but if you specify say '2 "' or '2 in' as 1st photo, your software will convert this to 50.80 mm which is correct and showing in the 2nd photo.

but if your in CAM, and do the same thing in the stock size box, it does not work.

this is does cause a slow down of flow esp as in the UK a lot of stock still comes in inches.

hope this makes sense

Leigh

as you can see in Model you can use '"'as you can see in Model you can use '"'but you see it does not work in CAMbut you see it does not work in CAM
