Slow performance

Hi,  I am having what seems to be increasingly slow performance with Fusion 360.  It has become so slow I hate to try to work on a project.  I am a hobbies, and have been using Fusion 360 for a couple of years.  I recently purchased a new computer for a couple of reasons one was Fusion speed on my old computer.  It seems worse on the new computer.

I am running an Apple

My computer  Hardware Overview is as follows

  Model Name: MacBook Air

  Model Identifier: MacBookAir10,1

  Chip: Apple M1

Total Number of Cores: 8 (4 performance and 4 efficiency)

  Memory: 8 GB

  System Firmware Version: 6723.81.1

System Software Overview:

  System Version: macOS 11.2.2 (20D80)

  Kernel Version: Darwin 20.3.0

  Boot Volume: Macintosh HD

  Boot Mode: Normal

   Secure Virtual Memory: Enabled

  System Integrity Protection: Enabled

Time since boot: 24 days 23:55

Apple M1:

  Chipset Model: Apple M1

  Type: GPU

  Bus: Built-In

  Total Number of Cores: 8

  Vendor: Apple (0x106b)

Metal Family: Supported, Metal GPUFamily Apple 7

  Displays:

EB321HQ A:

  Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (1080p FHD - Full High Definition)

  UI Looks like: 1920 x 1080 @ 60.00Hz

  Main Display: Yes

  Mirror: Off

  Online: Yes

  Rotation: Supported

  Automatically Adjust Brightness: Yes

My MacBook air is connected via HDMI to a larger 27" monitor.

Any help would be appreciated.  I have tried online and offline modes, may be a bit faster offline but still not useable.

Hi,

I have checked all of the items in the recommendations and still no change in performance.   The only discrepancy I have is that I do not have Rosetta2, but in reading when it is required I did not think that was necessary in my case.

The file I am currently having problem only contains Text, perhaps 100 characters in total, and between each transaction (closing or moving from a manufacturing activity to another) the wait time is 2 minutes and occasionally much longer, making it difficult to use.

I am not sure if this all started with the new computer, or updated Fusion 360 or this particular project.

Any help appreciated.

this is likely design-specific.  If you are trying to interact with 100 characters at once, that is likely to be the cause.  Do you see this in Design, or only in Manufacturing?  What operations are causing the delay?  Can you record a video?

I have attached a video.  The video does not always show the spinning wheel (rather the mouse pointer , not sure why it must be a Quicktime issue).  I saved the video at 480p so it would fit the download.

I'll have to get the CAM experts involved to give a better answer, since this seems to be a toolpath performance issue.  It does seem that this is a design-specific issue.  This model does seem fairly large (based on the time it takes to open).  Would you be willing to share the design?

I second what Jeff said above; could you share the design?
