Slicer issue | .pdf output is 'skewed'

Screen Shot 2017-11-23 at 12.26.48 pm.pngTrying to use Slicer to get lasercut files for a fairly large model, but I'm having an issue. Slicer gives a different output than shown in the plan preview, and skews the output to a point where I cannot use it for lasercutting. For example, the slanted rectangle on the attached picture should be a regular triangle, but it is skewed for some reason. Is there a way to solve this issue? Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Fusion community!

I'm sorry to hear about these issues you have been having with Slicer! I'm not certain if you know about this, but Fusion 360 can actually handle laser cutting right within the CAM workspace. Please see the learning content here on 2D Profile operations in Fusion 360's CAM workspace for more information.

I'm not sure what you are using for a laser cutter, but we may have a post processor for it in the post processor library, linked here for your reference. First, please search for the post processor that you require in our library.  If after searching, you find that our stock posts do not meet your needs or that we do not have the post that you are looking for, the good news is that all of our posts are open source.  You can use them without limitation and you can freely edit and create posts to fit your specific needs.

If you require post customization assistance, you have a few options:

  • Contact one of our CAM partners who offer post customization services (see Find an Autodesk CAM Reseller).
  • Head over to the forums for help creating or modifying the post on your own (see HSM Post Processor Forum).
  • Make a formal request for Autodesk to create your post and add it to the library by submitting your request on the Post Processor Idea Station and allow the community to vote on it.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns - I am always happy to lend a hand!

Cheers,

Mike Tessier
