sketching on drawing - dimesions don't adjust with scale

So, I just discovered the ability to sketch on a drawing. I'm not sure if this is new of I have just missed it. Anyway, I was very happy to find this. However, when I add dimensions to the sketch features, the dimensions are incorrect. Turns out, my drawing is scale 1:4, but when I dimension to the sketch, it provides the actual dimensions from the page without applying the scaling factor. Is there a way to get the scaled dimension to show up? Also, the snap features of this sketch mode are really hard to use. Sometimes its pretty much impossible to the the sketch point where I want it (say on a circle center).  Any advice is always appreciated.

Hi,

The sketch function in the drawing environment does not affect the model in sketches or features.

I'll provide a bit more detail about what I am trying to do. The center mark patter tool (in the drawing environment) can only be used if three or more features are located in a circular pattern, such as bolt pattern. I have not been able to find any way to use this tool if there are less than three features. Granted, there are always other ways to dimension the position of these features, but sometimes showing the circular pattern seems the cleanest. In my current case, I have a number of features that are located on various concentric circular patterns. In some cases, there are only one or two features per circle, so the center mark pattern tool doesn't work. This seemed like a perfect opportunity for the sketch tool to add in dashed line circle to show that these other features are also on a circular pattern. If I do so, and then use the dimension tool to show the diameter of the circle, it will not give the correct diameter unless the drawing was created with a 1:1 scaling factor. The only solution appears to be to use a leader line and the text tool to dimension the circle all while in the sketch. This works, but adds a number of extra steps if you want to arrange the positioning of the dimensions to create a clean final appearance.

I'm curious if this is an intended use of sketching on drawings. If not, what is the intended application.

thanks for any assistance

Kevin
