Sketch Trim command inactive

Hi,

I'm trying to use the trim command in sketch mode, but the trim function does not select any of the intersecting lines or arcs in the circles below. the circles and the lines do not change colour when I hover the cursor over them.  Ever met this problem before ? what are the possible causes ?

Thank you for your help !!

I solved the problem. Trim function only works if trimming is done in the same sketch where features were added. Therefore need to 1. create sketch, 2. add all features, 3.Trim what is necessary 4. close sketch. Adding a second sketch to the first sketch will disable the trim function.  intersections between first and second sketch are not recognised by Trim function. Surely this is a glitch to fix in fusion 360 ? Thanks.

If you have two separate sketches, there is no trim/extend interaction between the two. You can project relevant entities to the new sketch and perform the trim/extend there, but that's it.

Hi,

I would like to add this:
Projected elements cannot be trimmed in a sketch as long as they are connected to their origin (purple lines).

To be trimmed, the link to the original element must be removed (break link).
