Sketch the shape of a detail view.

I would like to be able to sketch the shape of my detail views.  Sometimes a circle is not the best shape for a detail view.  Many time I would like to detail the contour of cylinder wall.  And, a circle shaped detail takes up too much space on a drawing.  I would be nice to pick or draw a pill shaped or a rectangle shaped detail view.

Was there any update on a square / rectangular detail view? I find the circular detail view is very difficult to control and wastes alot of space on the drawing page.

There is a technical limitation blocking rectangular detail views. 

There is also a new type of view, "cropped views" that will probably be released* in the coming months that might be useful instead.
