Sketch lines not defined

I've just started using Fusion 360 and i've been trying to draw some lines so I could extrude it. The lines I've been drawing on this face are appearing blue. I defined them by giving them exact measurements. I created the same shape on the opposite face and that appears to have drawn in black lines allowing me to extrude. I have a feeling I messed something up simple and can't figure it out.

I was messing around with it and just created a brand new sketch and drew the lines in that one. That seems to have behaved much better and I can extrude it now. There's probably a much easier way to do this, but i'm still learning. I appreciate it.

If you are doing the same thing twice, you are not using the power of Fusion.

To extrude Cut both sides, use the extrude Cut on first sketch, dragged across the gap.
