Sheet Metal Flat Pattern Text

I am using Fusion 360 to create flat patterns that can be cutout on our laser and bent in the press brake. I would really like to be able to add instructions to the flat pattern that can be etched by the laser during the cutting process.

Instructions like: This Side Up, Ben 60 Degree, Part Number, eTc.

I can add this kind of stuff to the DXF after it has been created but ideally i would like to be able to create parametric models with the text placed as sketched and then exported with the flat pattern.

If there is a way to do this i have not figured it out. Is this possible and i am missing it or is this not an option?

EDIT. Just double checking and it looks like you only need a sketch in the flat pattern workspace but only text in the sketch will export. See bottom of post.

It looks like you can create a sketch in the flat pattern workspace and extrude into the part a small amount and it will export in the dxf file.

And this is the DXF in Rhino.

Your other option would be to create a 2d drawing and add the text then export to DXF.

If You have a sketch with text and curves only the text is exported in the dxf , the rectangle in the image below is ignored.

I so wanted this to be the answer....but when i export the flat pattern dxf it ditches those indents...So frustrating. Thanks for trying though or if you have any other ideas i could try?

Yes, I had tried adding text after creating the flat pattern. But i was hoping for a way to add it to the model. Seams like such an oversight to me. I think i will make a feature request. Thank you for trying to help.

Add and explode the text to flat pattern sketch
