Shape won't become a profile

So I am very new at this, but as I understand it, and has happened in the past when I close a shape it will turn orange and then it is a profile. (I may have the terms wrong)  For some reason that is not happening,  I assume that I have some setting wrong as it is not even happening on the basic shape creation tools.  The attached picture is of a circle and a rectangle created using the center diameter circle and 2 point rectangle respectively and as you can see they don't appear to be closed.  I've tried looking through the forum for this be every post seems to end up finding an open corner somewhere...I can't possibly have that issue unless the stock shapes have open corners. Also "Show Profiles" is checked.

Thanks for the help guys.

Likely the sketch articles are no longer on the original sketch plane, if you moved them off the plane, profiles, constraints and dimensions disappear.

Window select the articles, right click, select "Move to Sketch Plane" if it is in the menu.

That is not it, we need the file.

File > Export and attach to another message here.

The option is not there.  It is literally a brand new sketch. I've included the file

Yeah, I deleted everything and tried again, is it not supposed to turn orange?   The full issue is that when I extrude any shape it only becomes a wireframe not a solid like I am seeing in the tutorial video.  That video said that the sketch would turn orange when the shape was closed but no matter what I do it doesn't do that.

older videos are orange, newer videos are light blue, works the same.

Wireframe, ok, that is settings.
