Selling Rights to a design file

Hey everyone,

I've been looking for an answer, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.  The problem I have is that I have been using Autodesk Inventor on my work computer at home designing parts for 3D printing.  I have a design that an investment company approached me on & is interested in purchasing the rights to.  I know my employer owns the rights to the inventor file since it was created with their license.  My question is, can I re-design the file in Fusion 360 and sell the design?  Which fusion 360 license do I need to legally sell the file to someone when I don't know how much revenue this part could potentially generate for this company?

Thanks

Dustin

I can't comment on your eligibility to sell designs while being employed somewhere else. But, if you can, then getting a Fusion commercial license seems like the right choice since you are using the software for commercial activity and not just personal use.

@prichas would you like to add more to this?
