Scaling small component/assembly

I have a small assembly that I am trying to scale to a smaller size. The component cannot be selected unless I make it a rigid group, and once that happens and the group is scaled, it looks fine, until it is saved and then reloaded. Only one body keeps the targeted scaling while others convert back. The scaling feature seems to have just a horrible time figuring itself out when using any designs that didn't fundamentally start in 360.

The linked component are not affected by the scaling. If you need to scale an assembly you should re-consider your approach to design.

The idea was to make a quick mock up based on a previous design. Yes I could redesign the entire thing for a two second snap shot, but that seems excessive, when it seems like it should be able to scale relatively easily. Thanks for the advice about the links!

In that case, just break the links and then scale.

You can use Insert Derive.
