Save As -- only for paid?

I am a verified student user, but I cannot use the save as feature. I was using it last night, but today it says it is only available for subscription users. Do students really not have access to save as?

Thanks.

Hi @cogilvieF7X9F ,

I have an Educational subscription and i can do SaveAs for a fusion document.

Can you confirm again if you still have the issue?

Some of the weirdest things are being pay-walled. "Save as" is a joke. It can be circumvented by just duplicating the file so it serves no purpose other than to be a pain in the ass. Blocking higher tier things like 5-axis milling or tool changes in a single nc I can understand but "Save As"? Really?

Hi @KyleSpeirs,

Sorry to see that you're not able to do SaveAs problem.

Can you please send me help>about image and attach here to the reply.

Also confirm:

Are you using a file that is shared by a paid subscription from a personal account with basic access?
Are able to see SaveAs blocked in both team hub(The team hub you have created) & Personal hub?

You are dead wrong saying that the "Save As" command is not available in a Fusion 360 Personal License.  It may be true if you have reached your 10 editable document limit, but if you have not, it is there and works just fine as shown in the Screencast.

I updated to 2.0.10027 today and I can use 'Save As' just fine now. I'd update my last post but it doesn't look like you can edit posts, so it stays.

As of now I'm on:

2.0.10027
Active Plan: Fusion 360, Personal
Windows 10 (19042)

"You are dead wrong saying that the "Save As" command is not available in a Fusion 360 Personal License."

I mean, the screen cap I attached shows that I couldn't use it without a subscription so shame on me for assuming that I needed to have a subscription.

It looks like it was solved in the newest update (2.0.10027) for me. I didn't reach my 10 document cap.

Even worse her,Doesn`t work at all, yesterday all OK, today I couldn`t even sign in, did all the usual stuff including afew complete uninstall and re-installs, now it opens but is completely unusable, can not even do a Save never mind a "Save As"!!

Not even able to create a Document and save it, get a Red notification that everything is "Read Only", also have an Orange notification saying "Basic Access", not able to work "Offline" either.

This is "Personal - Not for Commercial Use" but it will not do anything, completely useless ????

So, can`t save anything, does post, so question is of what use is this Personal version ?????

Hi @engineguy ,

Can you perform an Automatic uninstall from this Tool and reinstall fusion 360 again.

After that let me know if you can save the files.

As @jhackney1972 shown in the video you should be able to do Save and do Save-as

For Personal and commercial use Here is the difference.

I have already used the "Cleaner" once and re-installed, made no difference.

However I will do it again just to be sure 🙂

Yep, done it all again and still the same, not usable. No 10 editable documents, in fact no Documents at all.

Here is the message I get.

Basic Access.jpg

???? What Team does it refer to ???

Don`t have one and trying to access the Fusion Team from my Account does nothing at all.

Hi @engineguy ,

You are in a Team.
As i mentioned earlier, The personal user cant edit/create/save documents in a Team.
Try switching to your Personal Hub (Single-User storage)

Go to your Data Panel and select the Team drop down.  If you only see one team, and you only have Basic Access, then you need to create a new Team.  Single-User Storage is not longer available and mine was created a long time ago and since has been turned into a Team account.  Team accounts are required for Personal License as well as others.  The big difference is that Subscription accounts can access any team and Personal accounts can only access the Team account they created.

I missed that part.
Thank you @jhackney1972  for adding.

Hmmm, nope, that didn`t work either, going to give my head a rest for an hour or two and try again from scratch I think, will also do a PC re-boot just in case.

Other thing that was weird that started all this off was the inability to actually sign in when I tried to launch Fusion today after working fine when closed down yesterday ?????

Thanks for the help both of you, yes, I did get it working after starting again from scratch and meticulously following the steps involved and it worked.

All looked good so I closed everything down and re-launched Fusion and *!%^&)* right back to the original issue of not being able to sign in again !!!

Going round in circles, if I get the Sign in working then I can`t get the "Team" setup thing to work and vice versa, very frustrating !!!

Sign in failure.jpgOh, and nothing at the Support Article link clears the issue !!!
