Revert Component Colors/Brightness Levels to Previous Update

Hello all!

I recently updated Fusion and found the new component colors to be too bright. I'm having trouble seeing the sketches on top of different components. I hadnt had this issue before the update. I was wondering if there was (or will be) a way to revert the colors/brightness settings back to pre-July-update? Its mentioned in here in the update log under: Visual Upgrade for Modeling Canvas.

I assume you're also using a grey or dark canvas background? Fusion switches line colors from black to white, but the white lines are barely visible against the new bright component colors.

I'd really appreciate a feature that lets you control the brightness of the component colors yourself.

It is really frustrating.

Yes I use a grey background for my modeling space.

Your screenshot showcases the issue really well. The green numbering is extremely difficult to see against the parts. They're just too bright.

This update made me frustrated.

1. Why are bodies so bright now? Where can I control this?

2. The visual feedback on edge selection is almost non existent. If I click an edge I should know it.

3. On Dark Sky environment the edges are gone while River Rubicon the edges are on. Makes no sense.

4. Let the users control edge styles for themselves. (thickness, color, brightness for: static, selected, and hidden states)

5. Let users control default body colors and brightness for themselves more easily (for: static, selected and hidden states). I don't need a body to look exactly like a specific material while I design it for months.

6. Anti Aliasing appears worse than before

7. Panning and zooming is now slower than before. Last update made panning faster in certain conditions. Now it seems slower than originally. Why can I not just control both the speed and acceleration myself?

GIVE THE USERS CONTROL PLEASE. I feel like most people using this software are power users. Give us the power to control how bodies, faces and edges look as well as the camera during design.

Agree - these new colors reduce edge/sketch/feature visibility and are garish. Old ones were better, but still lack the ability for user to select the color. Why just the option to "cycle"?

Agreed, the new colors are too intense. Why change it?!

I found new functionality in settings - "Enhanced selection experience", some kind beta and was enabled by default after last update.
Deselecting it and selecting "Enable IU Themes" (it requires Fusion restart) revert my component colors back to normal.

I hope this will help 🙂

Peter

I have the same glossy problem.

How can I finally get rid of it!

I use the Photo Booth environment, and I immediately noticed after the update that the colours are unnaturally bright, not like the appearances I originally selected, and the environment is so bright that the ambient occlusion effect is somewhat swamped out, giving a more flat look.

For those who would like to revert this, it is straightforward to edit

 C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\<GUID>\Neutron\Server\Scene\Resources\Environments\PhotoBooth\PhotoBooth.xlm

Around line 33 change

<ToneMapping ExposureBase="1.0" />

from 1.0 to whatever you want. Screenshots below show the effect of changing from 1.0 to 0.5, which to my eyes looks much better, and closer to what it was originally. Note that any changes you apply here will need to be re-applied after an update.

There are also a bunch of other settings in this file which look like they set the colours and properties of sketch lines, dimensions, and so forth, if you want to alter those.
