Rendering impossible: software freezes and crashes or stop to work

Hello, I’ve been using Fusion 360 occasionally for quite some time.

Unfortunately, I’m now facing an issue I can’t resolve. Today, it has become impossible for me to generate any render without the software crashing, even though I’ve previously created renders with complex scenes (many objects, lights, heavy images, etc.).

Now, even with a very simple setup (just a single cube), the software freezes as soon as rasterization starts.

Has anyone experienced this kind of issue before? How can I fix it?

For reference, I have already reinstalled Fusion 360.

System configuration:

OS: Windows 11 Pro
CPU: 13900K
GPU: RTX 4090
RAM: 32GB DDR5
Displays:

Monitor 1: 1920×1080 @ 60Hz
Monitor 2: 3840×2160 @ 160Hz
Monitor 3: 2560×1440 @ 240Hz
I’m attaching two videos showing the issue.

Basically, I encounter two problems:

When using “in Canvas Render”, the software freezes immediately when rendering starts.
When using the "Render", the render appears in the gallery, the CPU starts working briefly, then stops. The render remains unavailable and never completes.

Hi @M.andrieux99 ,

Thanks for sharing the detailed description and system specs, that really helps.

This does not look like expected behavior, especially since even a simple scene is causing the issue. To investigate further, could you please share the following:

These will help us understand what’s happening under the hood.

In the meantime, please also check:

  • Your GPU drivers are fully up to date (especially important with RTX 4090)
  • You are running the latest version of Fusion

Once we have the logs and report ID, we can dig deeper into the root cause.

Hi @M.andrieux99, as the Render workspace is CPU-based ray tracing, and you have a 13th gen i9 processor, I speculate you may be facing this issue. Unfortunately, it may be inherent to the model of CPU.
