Hi @lm275 ,

Thank you for posting in the forum, and I am sorry to hear about the issue.

I need a few more pieces of information to narrow down what the cause of the problem is-

  • When you try Render command, does Fusion crash, or does render fail?
  • Are you doing Cloud or Local render?
  • Could you attach the diagnostic log files?
  • Does the issue occur with any of your designs?

no crashing.  Nothing happens - the rendering settings window closes & the small window says local rendering started, then fades away.  I can keep working, everything works as normal.  The rendering just never happens.  No thumbnail w/progress bar in the rendering gallery.  It's like the render button is disconnected.  Thanks!  Leif

Hi,

even if the probability is low, I ask if one of these characters (~ " # % & * : < > ? / \ { | }. ä é  etc.) is contained in the name of the user folder.
I was able to confirm the same "phenomenon" last wednesday by creating a new user account.
much success in troubleshooting

Hi @lm275 ,

Are you still experiencing problems rendering? Did it help to so the following as @g-andresen  suggested?

  1. In windows, create a new user profile with no accent marks, umlauts, etc.
  2. Reinstall Fusion 360
  3. Use this profile in Windows until the fix is released into Fusion 360.

You can also see this forum post with more information.

Let me know! Thanks,

could you please tell me how to set up a new user profile (or rename existing?) and reinstall Fusion for Mac?  I tried to get there but the Fusion site said I already had it & wouldn't download it again.  Do I just start over as a new user?  How do I then get the projects from old user to new user?  Thanks!

Hi @lm275 ,

Thanks for the reply!! Here are some instructions I found, just let me know if you need any help!!

If you are changing the same of an already existing account, please make sure you perform a clean uninstall with the tool from this link: How to do an automatic clean uninstall for Autodesk Fusion 360. There is a link to download the cleaner tool for mac users!

When you redownload it, you can download it from manage.autodesk.com in the products tab, and just sign in with your existing account information.

Let me know if you have any questions!
