reinstallation fails -- get utf-8 codec message

I have needed to do a reinstall of fusion, had been getting the 'python-freeze' window. I uninstalled the prog' and am now trying to reinstall. I get an error shortly after starting that states:

 

utf-8 codec can't decoder byte 0xb9 in position 9

9: invalid start byte

 

Multiple attempts have been unsuccessful, log file is attached. Any and all help is appreciated

Follow the process outlined in this Webpage.  I would then download a "new" copy of the Fusion Installer from your Autodesk Account to use on you next attempt.

no good. Did the uninstall including the registry edit where I had matching data, folders, etc, and new download. Same error   😞

Succeeded by removing all files/folders in the Autodesk directory, above and beyond those suggested in the manual uninstall.
