Regarding the base materials for the composite materials

Hello guys, I am a master student. I am working on composite materials and I am finding it difficult to know the base materials of the composite materials. I have tried looking into Manage physical materials but couldn't get much information. I would appreciate your suggestions on this. Thanks and I wish you guys a happy new year !!
