Reduce angle of support

Hi, Very very new here and I am trying to edit and existing file. I am unsure what I am trying to do is even called. I'd like to reduce the length of pitch of the support piece shown in the picture.

Wondering if someone could give me a few tips on how to do this. See the attached picture to where I'd like it to roughly be positioned.
