"No Content Available" Error

Got an issue in a design that I've been operating in for well over a year now.

Since October 16 2025, Fusion comes up with this error when trying to use the normal function of Update Components:

"Cannot Update components
Could not download latest referenced files. No content available"

I've never seen this error before.

I cleared the cache, tried a few other things, and simply cannot get it to update my components.

However, if I right-click on the external component, select "History", then "use" the most recent version, then it will update that way. I'm glad that this works, however it is going to be very annoying if I will need to do this workaround for very long since I can only update 1 component at a time this way.

I did confirm that it is only doing it on this one design. Why? No clue. The fact that it CAN update the references one way and not another suggests a glitch in the system.

Thanks for any suggestions. Here's a few screenshots:

Hi @CMCORE

Can you share diagnostic log files? A couple other questions:

  • Does it work when you do "Get All Latest" (from the top toolbar)?
  • Does it work when you right click on the problem component and select "Get Latest"? (these work slightly differently, is why I ask)
  • If you scrub through your timeline, do you have any removed components in there that need updating?
  • If you open the problem design and make a change, then save again, does getting latest work after that?

Cheers,

Karina

Thanks for the reply! I'll PM the diagnostic logs to you.

I had moved the timeline to the very beginning, right after my first component insert, and had done "Get All Latest"- same issue, though sometimes it gets caught in a freeze and Fusion goes non-responsive, forcing a shut-down. The freeze part might be due to this being a significantly configured design with lots of external components? I have had stability issues in the past with larger, configured assemblies. Still abnormal, though.

I've also done the right-click-get-latest. Same original issue

There was only 1 removed component that could've been updated, which I had done prior to my post- same issue.

I've gone into multiple designs (old, new, simple, complex, etc.) and made quick tweaks, saved, then went to the main design to refresh- same issue, no matter how benign the referenced component might be.

So far as I can tell, there is not a specific "problem component". The parent design is not carrying out the Get Latest command on any external component unless I go the "right-click, History" route.

Thanks @CMCORE

I sent you a DM regarding the logs. Once I get those I might be able to say more. Some more questions...

It's one Assembly specifically won't update all of its linked designs? If those linked designs are used elsewhere, do they update normally? What is the name of that design and an example linked design that won't update? (This will help when I look at the logs.)

Also it looks like you're doing a "deep" get latest in the screenshot you attached at the top. This means that a component that is linked in another design that is linked (Assembly < Middle design < lower level design that is out of date).  Have you tried opening the middle designs and doing get latest, save, then go to the top assembly and doing get latest there?

Also if you're willing, maybe sending me the design would allow me to try and import it and reproduce the behavior.

Cheers,

Karina

Got those emailed to you.

Specific design with the problem is: PT PROTO 3. Example design that won't update normally in PT PROTO 3 would be V-PT-TB 7W GN. Another would be RAM 520 SCISSOR HOIST.

I've done several tests with different components where I can update them just fine in other designs, but in this one those same components will not update correctly.

As far as the "deep" Get Latest and opening the middle designs to update those- perhaps I'm not quite understanding. The GN ASSEMBLY shown in the screenshot is an internal sub-assembly, and the V-PT-TB 7W GN is an external component within the GN ASSEMBLY. If you're asking if I can update the GN ASSEMBLY, I can't because it's internal.  Let me know if that's what you were meaning.

If it gets to it, I can see about sharing the model to you.

Thanks for the logs. I took a look and there isn't much in there - do you remember if you used "get all latest" (GAL) in the recent sessions? I see the document being opened and checked but I don't see something like this in your logs, like I do in mine:

20251023T091150 I .1158809 Begin: Get All Latest Command

Can you try...
  1. Opening Fusion, running GAL (which will fail) and then close Fusion and share logs again
  2. If possible, share the design with me (email is fine) for testing. If I can reproduce it will be much easier to isolate the problem. Also it would be helpful to understand the structure of the links and if they're used in the Config table.

(And you're right about the deep gal - my bad)

Thank you @CMCORE , those logs have more info. There is a particular file that I'm thinking is causing the problem.

20251024T055957 E  27120 CONTENT_NOT_AVAILABLE for 8" IBEAM TONGUE

Do you ever see this error?:

Design not yet available - "8" IBEAM TONGUE v153" is currently unavailable to download. [User's name] saved the design, but their upload may not have finished. If [User's Name] closed Fusion, the version they saved will finish uploading when they open Fusion and connect to the internet on the same computer. - Click here to view error message.

This file is marked as 'content not available' which means that particular version didn't fully upload. Can you try the following:
  1. Have the other user who edited IBEAM TONGUE recently open it
  2. Get All Latest in this design
    1. There is a 'removed' linked component that is also out of date here. That file is titled "RJP...." and in order to bring it to latest, you'll need to scrub to that location in the timeline, GAL, then roll to the end again.
  3. Toggle the visibility of the root component off/on
  4. Save IBEAM TONGUE
  5. Try and GAL in the top level assembly again.

If that doesn't do it, capture diagnostic log files again and share them with me please 🙂

Cheers,

Karina

I never saw that exact error, although I do remember seeing an error with the first part of that message, saying that that part was "not yet available". At the time, I didn't quite put two and two together.

Lo and behold, I looked at that part you pointed out, and turns out there were 3 versions from 10/16/2025 from 2:14pm to 2:17pm that had saved but never uploaded and were unopenable. I opened the last version that could be opened (from 7/13 unfortunately), saved as latest, and now the issue is cleared up! Not totally sure why those versions did not fully upload and could not be opened, but fortunately the changes that were made were insignificant.

Thanks for your help, Karina!
