Fusion keeps crashing, simulation shows: "Error calculating stock". No clue why this is happening, but it started with the most recent update.

Hi.

Can you attach a screen shot of your stock settings or better, provide the Fusion-file.

@pete.oxenham do you have the Preview Flag "reduce air cutting in 3D Adaptive" turned on? Try turning that off and see if you can get past this error.

Hello, i have the same issue of @pete.oxenham, if i try to simulate the whole program it crashes or show the error "An error has occurred during a stock calculation", it's a program for 4th axis mill. i have another complain, the some operations to have their toolpath generated are taking too long, i understand that 3d adaptative cleaning take a lot of the computer but, about 300 seconds (checked by Fusion cam task manager) to be completed an operation it's too much time, all that issues came with the updates. Waiting for response of you guys because i'm stuck without the simulation.

I have the same problem. There is so much bug in Fusion360... I really don't know if Inventor 2021 works better.

On a Core i7-8700 CPU, camkernel take 8 hours to just calculate 200 curved lines in 5 axis...

To all those that have replied, do you have a file that you can share?
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

Hi Seth,

I am getting the error message under setup 1, T4  3mm Groove. If you can have a look and let me know why I am getting this notification.

Same issue here. My positive experiences with fusion are becoming few and far between

I give you an example of simulation crash.

I just change the tool. And if I choose another tool he will generate random toolpath in first path for no reason (see my post: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-manufacture/mutli-axis-contour-doesn-t-follow-curve-line/m... )

What are all this bugs ?! Possible to have a developper who can fix this strange bugs ?

Same issue, can't simulate a very simple lathe program that was proofed and posted some weeks ago.

Hi Seth,

I attached a file with this error and have not received any feedback yet, the error seems to occur on grooving operations within lathe components.

@PiotrKawka okay, thanks, that issue is still present in a newer build (upcoming release build). I did find that by making BOTH the "Overall Length" and "Head Length" the same value allowed me to simulate.

I will open a ticket this morning on this issue

I had this issue to, and will explained how I fixed it.  It's pretty alarming that an update caused this issue.  Will I be able to trust F360 to open my files in the future?  Also alarming is the lack of detail in the error message.  "Error Calculating Stock".... Not a great place to dive in from.

My setup had a stock calculated from multiple bodies.  I was able to fix this by copying the existing bodies to a new group, combining them into a single body and setting this new 'simplified' body as the stock for my setup.  Good luck.
