"Display Color Components" only shows Wireframe

I've selected the visual style "Shaded with Visible Edges Only". However, when I switch to "Display Color Components" my models are shown as a wireframe. It's not related to a specific file as I see this behaviour even for 3rd party step files. So it looks like I accidentaly activated an unwanted option.

Just to confirm, this problem remains in the January update.

It is now March 2024, 6 months after the initial reports, and the issue is still happening.

One thing I have noticed in the last update or two is that when the problem occurs, toggling "Show Component Colors" a couple of times seems to fix it (at least, until the next time)

It seemed to be working a little better until the update a week or so ago but it has come back with a vengeance since the update. I started a new post and sent a crash report in  :https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-support/it-s-back-drawing-jumps-into-wireframe-view-and-won-t-...  but have received no replies only 43 views. I participate in a Zoom room full of designers and 3D printers and some are changing to Design Spark. I don't understand how Autodesk can afford to have these products and expect anyone to pay for it.

Does anyone on Apple Silicon NOT have this issue? This just started for me today and makers it nearly impossible to get anything done in Fusion... Has there been an official word from Autodesk?

I was pretty chuffed to try this out, but for what it's worth, I'm afraid it didn't work for me. I've been in the degenerate state several times over the last week and always tried this, but no luck so far...

Same here for the proposed solution, toggling "Show Component Colors" back and forth even 20 times or more doesn't do anything for me. Even saving and closing the window of that specific design, then opening that design again doesn't fix it. Once it enters that state, I have never been able to fix it without completely exiting the app and relaunching it. Then, 15-20 minutes later, it happens again.

it's frustrating. Avery day I must restart Fusion. Many times! This is a problem only native app for Apple M chip . Autodesk has a big team, but they aren't testing a native app on Apple M chips? Where can I write this problem to be resolved finally? This error is random. Sometimes when I move body, sometimes when I make Sketch, sometimes when I make Extrude or etc...

This might sound strange but have you tried updating macOS? It worked for me. Fingers crossed.

I'll add my name along with my team's on seeing this problem persist for months now. They are on M2 Max Studios and I am on a M3 Max MBP. Wake from sleep can cause it, extrude can cause it, holes can cause it...... I think basically anything that causes a graphic "refresh" kills component color cycling.

I've been forcing myself to work in component color mode just to collect some quantitative data. With the models I'm dealing with currently, Fusion 360 never lasts more than an hour without going into this degenerate mode.

I'm more convinced than ever that whatever causes this display issue also causes F360 to crash. Not consistently. But sometimes, and in close proximity (< 10 minutes) to the occurrence of the display issue.

F360 isn't really usable in component color mode once the display problem manifests, so I always switch back to normal display once it happens. But apparently, whatever's scrambling F360's brain has already happened by that point, as evidenced by the frequency of crashes.

Can't use component colors. Component become transparent after change

The same issue, on any Apple Silicon mac I tried, no matter on configuration. The bug is there from the official release of the native Apple Silicon app.

I'm seeing this issue as well.  Now that we have a repeatable case, I wonder if there's any attention being put on this.
