"Create Sketch" Centers on Global Origin

Video shows issue. Was working fine today then all of a sudden it started. All preferences are default.

Create sketch used to center on the face I was trying to sketch on. Now it centers on the global origin no matter what. I've seen on some other posts from a few months ago this might be reoccurring bug. Same thing happened to me last year and I just stopped using this program. I know you can turn off auto look at sketch, but I enjoy when this program works correctly and centers on the face.

Uninstall also does not fix the issue. I have tried every reset option I could find in the software. The problem persists across devices as well. Installed Fusion on a laptop which never had it installed before and still the same issue. Which leads me to believe it is a cloud based preferences issue/bug.

I am also not able to go through support channels other than the forums because Autodesk doesn't allow support help for the education edition.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @ssweeny

One possible solution to this issue is to try disabling the "Auto Look at Sketch" feature in Fusion 360. To do this, go to the "Application menu" > "Preferences" > "Sketch" and uncheck the "Auto Look at Sketch" checkbox.

Another solution is to try resetting the sketch center. To do this, select the sketch you are working on and go to the "Sketch" menu and select "Set Sketch Plane" . Then, select the face you want to center the sketch on.

It's possible that this issue is a reoccurring bug, as you mentioned, and that it has not been fixed by Autodesk yet. In this case, the best option would be to check the Autodesk's website or community forums to see if there is any information about a fix or workaround for this issue.

If none of the above works, it could be an issue with your specific installation of Autodesk Fusion 360, so it may be worth trying to uninstall and reinstall the program or to contact Autodesk support for further assistance.

I see no option called "Set Sketch Plane" anywhere in Fusion 360. Do you have a screenshot of that option, perhaps you have a different version of 360.
