Quicker joint duplication problem!

I have a model where I have 12 identical subassemblies that need to move in a linear fashion similar to an accordion, as in they will separate from each other at an equal distance when extending and contracting. I managed to do this by creating a pattern and then manually creating joints- limits and motion links between them all. There must be an easier way to duplicate the joints limits and links as I am modeling multiple versions of this and the joints seem very sensitive to change in the subassemblies.  I'm pretty new to fusion but am a fast learner as I've been doing this for 4 weeks so some of my models are a little shaky but I'm starting to tie thing down so go easy on me.  ( please note there are 10 part in the screencast hance the problem)

I have also tried to used Contact sets on the faces but that always seems to create issues after 5 or 6 copies,  I attempted pasting new and simple paste but it always seems very buggy.  Another joint problem with is the rest feature seems to never really work with this.

Also when applying contact sets it gets very buggy and will hang my computer and slow down the model considerably but this could be down to the number of components in question and fusion having to compute this while keeping all the rules applied to the parametric model.  Would it be better for me to convert the individual subassemblies into STL files to help efficiency? I have tried to use linked subassemblies figuring this would help which it does but still feel clunky and takes forever to reproduce and set up the stack of joints.   I have also reproduced the above example with simple extruded slots and it seems to perform heaps better. I'm running a laptop with 1060 (full-fat) and i7 HQ while plugged into the mains, I know it's not the best but I'm confident it, not the issue as it barely gets warm.   Also when turning off history things seem to be lightning fast.
