Push/Pull Re-anchor in assembly

Hi,

I have moved over to Fusion 360 from Solidworks and so far I'm very happy with the change.

However I'm a little stuck on re-anchoring.

I set up a project library where I created a profile for 2020 V Slot Aluminium Extrusion, including joint origins.

I inserted it into an assembly in a different project.

I broke the link so that I could change the length of the extrusion without affecting the master library.

I duplicated the extrusions using regular paste and paste new so that I could group length configurations.

I mated/joined all the extrusions together with the joint origins I created in the library.

I hid on of the extrusions profiles so that I could see the face I wanted to pull.

I pulled the face, and selected re-anchor, then the parallel face on the purple component in the image below.

I also tried the parallel face on the other side of the part that I'm trying to pull (the cyan coloured part), but this has the exact same issue.

Instead of allowing me to dimensions between the face I'm pulling and the face I selected as the new anchor, its selecting the front plane of the assembly (or the red axis line in the image below that extends from the origin).

This works flawlessly when I'm in the library and editing the length of the extrusion profile on it's own, but not when it's added to this assembly.

What have I done wrong?

Design history has been turned off so joints dynamically adjust as I update the lengths of the extrusion profiles.

Kind regards,

Dan

thanks for your post and sharing the model.  It looks like re-anchor is broken in this assembly (maybe in other places, we need to investigate).  In the meantime, I would recommend using snap instead of re-anchor in this case.  Snap just lets you select a parallel face, and have the press/pull line up with that face.  If you need an offset from there, just add/subtract that value.  That's really all re-anchor is doing anyway.

[edit]  the bug is FUS-50770

Thanks Jeff,

Snap won't work for me here because I'm trying to get a length of 500mm. I'll work around it for now, but a solution to this would be much better. Thank you for your time.

Kind regards,
