Protected CAM operations sometimes don't stay protected

Protected my toolpaths, tried posting (Fusion crashed), restarted Fusion:

- Time Magazine’s Person of the Year 2006
- Apple M1 Max rMBP A2485 // Latest MacOS // Latest Fusion
- Usually working off files uploaded to Fusion as: Step, STL, SLDPRT. If it matters ask me.

I have a similar situation.  I can protect a toolpath then suppress/unsuppress freatures and it stays protected.  If I save the model, shut down Fusion 360, re-start Fusion 360 and all of the toolpaths need to be regenerated.  This only started happening after the last update.

@schuran is this an XREF (inserted document), and have you made any updates to the parent file? Can you share your data here?
