Project to Surface tool projecting at an unexpected angle

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the Project to Surface tool not behaving as expected. I am trying to project curves onto a curved surface (the hull of a model ship). The curves I want to project are on a sketch whose plane is parallel to that of the destination sketch (along the length of the model ship). The curved surface I want to project to obviously sits between them.

As a test, I attempt to extrude the test curves to demonstrate that the extrusion happens perpendicular to the source sketch's plane and cuts the curved surface in the expected location. I would expect the project tool to project along the same path.

Unfortunately, when I use the Project to Surface tool, the projection occurs at a strange angle, as if refracting downward and projects to the wrong location.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Set the option for Projection Type to Along Vector and select the sketch plane so that it projects normal to (Perpendicular) to the sketch plane.

You have the project type set to closest point, you need to change to Along Vector then pick a direction for the projection.
