Project not opening after most recent update

I use Fusion 360 in two computers, ne updated and was able to work on a project just fine, them when I opened Fusion on my other computer and after running the update I could not open the project I was working on, got the following message:

Fusion can't open Canon Flash Unit Model Y Saber v807 which was persisted by version 2.0.19204 with your current software version 2.0.18961.

Update manager says I'm already running the latest version which in the About section does show as 2.0.18961, how is it possible one of my computers got 2.0.19204 and the other one didn't?

I'd appreciate any help, thank you!

@vic.n78 We did update yesterday to 2.0.19204 but ;later this morning, we blocked the update due to an issue we found. We put the production back to 2.0.18961. We are hoping to get an update put that will be 19204+ shortly and that other machine should be able to update.

Ok, thank you!
Should I be worried that I worked on my project with that blocked update?

@vic.n78 No need to be worried.. The inconvenience is that you cannot use the other machine to operate files already saved with the new version (until you update the other machine).

@ronanJ9MBL @Looks like you are opening a Fusion design that is now saved in a newer version of Fusion than the one you are on.

You will need to update your Fusion version and then the file will open.

Do you work on multiple machines or do you collaborate with others on this design ? It’s possible one of those machines are updated and your is not.

I am having the same problem with a project someone is working on for me. However when I go to update now it tells me I already have the latest version installed. How would I force an update in this case.

@TOMALLEN98 2.0.19440 is the latest that we have in production and you have the latest. Is it possible that the other person that you are working with is part for Fusion Insider and they have gotten a version that is not yet available in production? Do you know what version they are on?

Fusion can't open Arb V2 which was persisted by version 2.0.19695 with your current software version 2.0.19440

Seems like the quickest solution would be for me to become and insider as well and download the beta version. How would I do that?

@TOMALLEN98 That certainly is the Insider build. You can register using the link in my signature.

I have checked both versions on Fusion 360 that i am running on 2 different machines (windows and Mac) and they are both on the latest versions.  The last change i made was on the Mac version of 2.0.19440.  I am now trying to open the file on my Windows version of 2.0.18961 x86_64.  If i "Check for Update" on the Windows version it says that i am up to date?

@ronanJ9MBL @Can you please do the following ?

1. Close Fusion

2. Delete the shortcut that you use to launch Fusion

3. Go to add/remove program

4. Select Fusion - modify

This will launch the Fusion service utility

5. Run the Repair Fusion

This should fix the problem.

Hi
I did this and it did not work.

So next I uninstalled F360 and reinstalled. And it does not work. Still it is on version 2.0.19440 x86_64

How can I fix this?
It really messes up my workflow of working between a Mac and PC.

Thanks

@simcarls 2.0.19440 IS the version you need to be on. So looks like you are applying this fix that I asked on the wrong machine.

Thanks for the quick reply.
So my Mac, where the project was saved, is at 2.0.19695. And I can't open that in my windows version 2.0.19440 that you say is the latest.

To me 19440 is a lower number than 19695 so the Mac version should be the latest. Or what am I missing? Thanks for the help

@simcarls @I Dee what happened here. In your original post you had call out the build as 2.0.18961 and that is what threw me off. The 2.0.19695 is an Insider build. This is a build that we have not yet released to production. I take it that you joined the Insider and installed the Insider build. This is of a newer schema than the current production of 2.0.19440.

You have to update your windows also with the Insider build.

@simcarls @Installing Insider should address this problem. My apologies as well for not paying attention to the user that posted. Wrongly assume it was you who originated the initial post.
