Product Not Rendering Correctly

Hello there,

I have an office room sign. The large lower portion (the face) is clear acrylic. Behind the clear acrylic is a wood/laminate backer that shows thru. And there are two narrow strips of a grayish/brown colored applique along the top and bottom of the acrylic.

The problem is, that when I go to render... The effect of the wood seems to be presenting on the surface of the clear acrylic as large square pixels, why is that? And why are there pixels and noise/grain at all? Why does the image render so poorly?

Z-Fighting of surfaces occupying the same space.

Offset (press/pull)  the surface of the Acrylic by 0.05 mm away from the surface of the Insert Backer, so there is a clear air gap.

Combine-cut all the letters from the backer, otherwise you';ll also have Z-Fighting if the letters top surface with the top surface of the Backer.

Wonderful! Thanks a lot. And thanks for sharing your file. I looked it over and retraced your steps in my file and was able to copy what you did exactly, and I got the same results you did. 😄
