I have been working in Fusion 360 to create a model of a fleur de lys and I am having trouble while trying to sweep a profile of the left leaf. Initially the problem was because I had the rail curve and the guide curve intersecting, so the preview after selecting the profile, rail and guide wouldn't generate. I initially simply set the distance to a smaller value and the preview then worked. Clicking OK then created a body that matched the preview. However, when sweeping the same profile in the other direction, I was not able to get the second part to generate, even when selecting a smaller distance would show a preview. When the OK button was pressed, no body was generated nor was the second part joined to the first when I tried that option, even though the preview showed that it should have worked. Even a ridiculously small slice of .1 distance from the starting position, which does not contain any sharp curves, would fail, even when the preview worked with no errors.
Once I understood what the error message was reporting after the failure, I went back into the sketch and nicked off the tip of the converging outlines (truncated the corner) and re-adjusted my rail and guide splines. I deleted and recreated the first part of the sweep, keeping the distance at 1 and the sweep worked perfectly. However, the second part of the sweep still does not work correctly, even though the preview displays fine even with the distance at 1. Even as small of a distance as .01 does not work when the OK button is clicked.
Since the preview portion is working before I click OK, I assume that the sweep should have succeeded so I am posting it here as a possible bug. I've attached my model and a screencast showing the problem.
Thanks for any help you can provide,
Jonathan Lee
