Hi, they're seams to be a problem with the populate tick mark, non of the components can be toggled with the poopulate option.

I'm running fusion version: 2.0.10446

Hi @01xDaniel ,

I hope you're doing well. That populate checkmark shouldn't even be visible since it's an internal setting controlled by the Variant functionality.

@HelenChen-ElectronicsQA This should be corrected. Could you make a ticket for this? To hide that option since it isn't user controllable.

If the populate tick mark isn't the correct way to set device population, what is then the best way to let PCB manufactures know not to place a component?

Hi @01xDaniel ,

I hope you're doing well. That is a good question and there are many ways to address it. IMO, the most foolproof way is to add an attribute in the BOM of called something like Do Not Place. Then for each component type Yes or No.

Talk to your board manufacturer and ask them how they want that information called out and conform to that.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

@jorge_garcia - I agree that this option should be hidden if it’s not some thing that is user selectable. Especially since documentation on how variants work is very sparse. Ideally though, it would be great to be able to just select it or deselect it at will. I would use that functionality often.
