problem with extruding

The Zs are open, not closed profiles. Also you will find it easier if you only sketch one corner, extrude then pattern the extrusion rather than have six copies in the sketch. A lot less work to pattern the extrusion.

The trouble starts in your first sketch of the Z. You either need to add a line between the open ends or make the circle the same size as the distance between the end points.
