Well, I figured out why I keep getting an 'over constrained' message. If I draw a 2" x 2" cube and then ask the program to supply the dimension of that one side, it tells me  2" . If I go to the other side of the cube and draw a vertical line that divides the cube into two uneven pieces, and then dimension the larger section, it will tell me that the larger piece is 1.500". But, if I try to dimension that last .500", it tells me that is 'over constrained' because it is 'obvious' what that should be. Problem solved, through persistence.
