Problem creating drawing from design

Hi Everyone,

I am running a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8500 CPU @ 3.00GHz (3.00 GHz). 16gb ram, nvidia geforce rtx 3060 12gb graphics card and windows 11 home 24h2. I installed fusion and made sure that it is updated. All drivers are updated. When I try to create a drawing from a design the "create drawing" dialog pops up and I accept the defaults. When I click "OK" a new tab opens called "untitled" and it is a read only file. It contains a blank sheet and I cannot do anything. The only button in fusion that works is to close the application. If I try to open a existing drawing from one of the sample files it opens but I cannot do anything and I am forced to close fusion.

[GPU Information]
GPU Device: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
GPU RAM: 12160 MB
GPU Driver API: DirectX 11.0
GPU Driver Version: 581.29
GPU Driver Date: 09/06/2025

[Graphics Effects Settings]
Anti Aliasing: On
Ambient Occlusion: On
Object Shadow: Off
Ground Shadow: On
Ground Reflection: Off
Selection Display Style: Normal
Transparency Effect: Better Performance

  • All drivers are updated
  • I disabled the build in graphics card in device manager
  • I am running Direct x 11
  • I used the service utility to repair and reset fusion
  • I uninstalled the graphics driver and reinstalled it
  • I added Fusion and accoreconsole.exe to the program settings under 3d settings in NVidia control panel.
  • I rebooted several times (desperate times)

Please let me know what I missed or did wrong. if someone needs additional information please let me know and I will reply as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Can you use the Windows commands Shift Win S and Ctrl v to copy and paste a screen capture of this screen into your next Reply?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply for testing?

Hi, Thanks for helping!

This is a test file I created to make sure there are no funny things in the design.

this is what it looks like when I try to make a drawing

then it goes wrong

There is no drawing to export but I attached the 3d model I am using to test.

Thanks again!

Works just fine here.  I suggest you try an different template.  If you do not have one, create a new one for test.  I have also attach one of Fusion's standard templates for you to try.  I had to ZIP it as I cannot attach a F2T file.

Thank you for your response.

I cannot use a template with the non commercial license.

See screenshot below

This is another drawing I opened from the training doc's. Now that this document is open, I cannot click on anything. If I hover over a button (Lets say base view) it shows the description, but nothing happens when I click on it. None of the buttons work, I have to close fusion. I can create drawings on this same account using my laptop but not this computer.

It would seem to me that it is time to use the Fusion Service Utility to Repair Fusion or uninstall and reinstall.

I tried the repair and reset options in the service utility before I created this post. I didn't think to try a reinstall because it was a fresh install. However, I uninstalled it and then reinstalled fusion. I was able to create one drawing, I didn't add any dimensions, I just moved things around and it seemed to work. I turned off my computer and started working in the workshop. I just switched my computer on now to start the night shift and the problem is back. Even the drawing I created last night opens but I cannot do anything. I have to close fusion completely. In the screenshot below you will see my recent data. I tried the flywheel the backplate and test.

I have also tried to use software rendering, and it doesn't work. I know it was probably a desperate attempt!

I have also confirmed that the settings for windows reflect the changes I made in the nvidia console.

I have now uninstalled and reinstalled fusion. It works with the first launch. If you close and open fusion it is broken again.

Any ideas please.
