Print selection only

How do I print just a selection of a whole body?  I am working on a large body design but only want to test the print of a small element of it.

I am using Fusion360 and printing via Cura to a CR10

I am new to 3D printing

regards

steve

Hi @Anonymous,

You print only part of a body as far as im aware because you can't save part of a solid body out as STL to send to Cura. and the print utility uses an STL export so it will always select the entire body for printing.

There are two workarounds as far as i'm aware:

Slit it the body into multiple and send that out. The body could always be combined later -or- the split removed from the timeline(so long as you don't have dependent bodies/references on the splits). I would Save Copy As and edit the copy!

Save out the STL and edit the STL to remove the unwanted regions. This is way more model intesive but preserves your original design.
