when using XY partial boss to find center on a boss, it's not finding the center of the circle. Any idea on why its off?

I have  the points orientated at three equal points on the circle. Kinda like the Mercedes logo.

Hi @singleturboB4VZK,

What machine and probe do you have?

We hand this over to the on machine macros to deal with so we have little control over the calculation as long as we provide it with the correct inputs.

When you say its not finding the centre do you mean its left blank, or it incorrect when compared to a DTI?

There are also 2 calibration methods when it comes t probes like Renishaw. Standard calibration and vector calibration. For probing in 3 points it is advised to use the vector calibration. image (42).png

Oh and yes I have calibrated it just recently.

Thanks for the info. The probe finds the center when doing the normal 4 point touch off. Also In the last 20 days the probe has been used around 500 times on some parts we run every month. The probing was all set up in Fusion and works awesome. I cant do the 4 point touch off on the parts I am setting up now because they are too close together on one side.

Hi, try to use 9804 rather than 9803, this should be used if you are using the 3 point bore cycle.
