Poor sketch resolution

Is there anyway to increase the resolution of sketching things like splines? I am working on a sketch that is not very large, about 14" wide and the resolution of being able to drag spline points around is so poor it makes things more or less impossible to work. If I zoom very very far in the ability to drag things around becomes smoother but then I lose visual references that I need in order to adjust the sketch. 

Entire program seems to be running very poor since the last update.

it's hard to say without some more information, like a screencast and the model.  However, one trick that I do is to hold down CTRL (CMD on a Mac) to disable inferencing while dragging spline points or tangent handles.  Without that, Fusion will try to snap to inferences in the sketch (other points, curves, parallel/perpendicular, if you are dragging tangent handles).  This is not a change, it has been this way for 9 years.
