Patterns on path not perpendicular to path

Hello, I am trying to create a rectangular pattern on a half circle, but the rectangles do not remain perpendicular to the chosen path, they rather go to a 10 degree of angle. Is there something I am doing wrong, because even the examples on the fusion website, has the rectangles running of square with the chosen path.

You control the orientation by the setting at the bottom of the Pattern On Path command.  See screencast.

Thank you for the feedback, this is exactly how I've been doing it, but the difference is, that the shapes are a bit more complex. I am building a couch so the support need to go all round square to the circle. I have tried, using a centre line, using only the rectangular cut out, but no success.

I have attached a video to show, my situation.

I am guessing that your original is not square to the path to start with.  Attach your model so others can take a look.  In the future, I suggest you use Autodesk Screencast for your videos.  They are better in many ways especially since they show keystrokes as well.

Thank you for your help, the problem was that my first one wasn't square to the path,(spot on).
