Pattern tool for components not allowing to happen (see video)

set up components, then imported a SVG file (hand drawn) then scaled it up, then extrudes parts of the sketch to different thickness then wanted to make the component several time with the pattern tools ( to use it as a template attactched to another Component.... Any way the pattern part would not go thru...?  can't click ok and does not show the spaces to set the pattern apart from each piece and etc.   thank you for your help.

Hi,

There is no component in your screencast that could be arranged in a pattern. Try using the bodies option instead.

Do not window select.

Select the top file item in the browser, in the browser,

might work, never tried what you want.

Rule #1 - should make an active component first, then sketch and body.  It will pattern.

Hi,

A root component cannot be patterned on its own.

The menu also shows that no component has been selected.

just doing the "bodies worked!"... question you said "root components" can not be patterned.  If I make a component under the root component, can it be patterned? Because I want to use the pattern as a placeholder/template
